Grace Lilly’s legal troubles are piling up. The 27-year-old Southern Hospitality star was arrested Tuesday morning in Charleston, South Carolina, and charged with possession of a controlled substance, her second run-in with law enforcement in just three months. Jail records show she was booked around 1:40 a.m. and released later that day after a judge set bond at $10,575.
Details about Tuesday’s arrest remain limited. The charge is a misdemeanor under South Carolina law, but authorities haven’t disclosed what substance was involved. What’s clear: Lilly was released on personal recognizance, meaning she walked free without posting cash bail after promising to appear in court. Her initial appearance is scheduled for May 1, with a follow-up hearing on August 21.
Just hours before her arrest, Lilly posted on Instagram about preparing to watch Marty Supreme, sharing a casual update with her 56,800 followers. The post now reads differently.
This latest arrest follows a far more detailed December incident. On December 29, 2025, Lilly was pulled over at a Charleston gas station after police say she made an illegal lane change. There was already a warrant out for her arrest, a second-degree harassment charge stemming from a dispute with an ex-boyfriend over a pet cat.
When officers handcuffed her, Lilly asked for her purse. Inside, they found a small container labeled “Happy Pills” containing 12 circular white pills with a “P” imprint and half of an oblong blue pill with no markings. According to the police report, Lilly said the blue pill was Xanax and the white pills were birth control. She claimed to have a prescription for the Xanax but couldn’t produce proof. She also couldn’t name the brand of birth control.
The pills were seized and sent for testing. The incident was logged as a “drugs/narcotics violation”.
The December warrant adds another layer. Lilly’s ex-boyfriend had obtained a restraining order against her after what authorities described as two years of harassment over their shared pet cat. The couple bought the cat together in late 2022. After they split, the ex filed a Claim and Delivery suit for sole ownership and won.
Court documents allege Lilly repeatedly tried to contact him, attempted to enter his apartment, and tried to take the cat. The ex told police her interference left him “paranoid of her popping up in his life.” The restraining order followed, and the warrant landed Lilly in handcuffs at that gas station.
Lilly has been a cast member on all four seasons of Southern Hospitality, Bravo’s spin-off of Southern Charm. The show follows staff at Republic Garden & Lounge, a high-end Charleston nightclub owned by Leva Bonaparte. Lilly worked there as a VIP host for five years before leaving, though she told Pop Culture in January she misses it: “I felt like I brought a light into Republic that is missing, honestly”.
Season four premiered March 4, days before her arrest. She’s currently on air while facing court dates that could shape her future, both on and off camera.
