The legal battle is over. Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker have officially settled their divorce, bringing an end to a contentious four-month legal fight that included dueling custody requests and financial disputes. The former couple reached an agreement on March 11, with a Fulton County judge ordering them to submit final paperwork, including a parenting plan and child support worksheet, by March 20.
Burruss, 49, first announced the split on November 21, 2025, after more than a decade together. “After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce,” she told PEOPLE at the time. “This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother, I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect”.
The couple’s love story began on the set of The Real Housewives of Atlanta in 2011, where Tucker worked as a producer. They announced their engagement in January 2013 and married in a lavish Coming to America-themed ceremony in April 2014.
What followed was anything but amicable, at least in court. Initial filings showed Burruss requesting joint custody of their two children: son Ace, 9, and daughter Blaze, 6. But Tucker pushed back, seeking sole custody and citing Burruss’ demanding work schedule and frequent travel.
The battle escalated. Both filed paperwork accusing the other of interfering with custodial time. Tucker claimed Burruss kicked him out of the marital home and moved him into the guest house. Meanwhile, their business entanglements complicated matters, the couple’s restaurant group recently agreed to pay $140,509.10 to settle a lease dispute tied to their Atlanta steakhouse Blaze.
During a February appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Burruss revealed the marriage had been over longer than fans knew. “It happened in July,” she told Andy Cohen. “In July was when I was like, ‘Oh, yeah. No, I can’t do this no more'”.
When pressed for details, she declined: “Yeah, it was a specific situation that happened. I’m not talking about it on Watch What Happens Live“.
Despite the courtroom drama, both parents prioritized their children. In December, Burruss announced they’d spend Christmas together in New York “for our kids” . She doubled down in January: “We have determined that no matter what, we’re always going to be great co-parents for our kids. We’re still a family, even though he and I have decided to go our separate ways”.
Days before announcing their split, Burruss accepted the Wifetime Achievement Award at BravoCon and publicly thanked Tucker: “To Todd, thank you for surviving the blogs, the shade, the rumors, the lies, the truth, the almost fights, the actual fights, the reunions. You earned this award too”.
With the settlement finalized, both move forward separately, but connected through their blended family. Burruss has daughter Riley, 23, from a previous relationship; Tucker has daughter Kaela, 29. Together they built an empire of restaurants, Broadway productions, and reality TV spinoffs. Now they’re building something new: a functional post-divorce partnership.
