Harry Styles brought his record-breaking 12-night Wembley Stadium residency to an emotional close on Saturday, pausing to thank the four men who started it all. Speaking to 80,000 fans, the 32-year-old singer credited his former One Direction bandmates for shaping the career that landed him on one of the world’s most iconic stages.
“I wouldn’t be on this stage if it wasn’t for four friends of mine that were a massive part of this journey,” Styles said during the final show of his Together, Together tour. “I wanna thank Niall, Louis, Zayn and my dear friend Liam.”
Styles has now made history at Wembley Stadium, surpassing records previously held by Coldplay and Taylor Swift. His 12 shows mark the most performances by any artist in a single year at the venue, beating Coldplay’s 10-night run in 2025 and Swift’s eight shows in 2024. The residency was originally announced as six nights but was doubled due to overwhelming demand.
The most poignant moment came when Styles addressed the late Liam Payne, who died in October 2024 at age 31. His tribute carried extra weight as Payne’s parents, Geoff and Karen, along with his sister Ruth and young nephew, watched from the audience.
Styles fought back emotion as he honored his “dear friend” by name, acknowledging the bond forged during their X Factor days in 2010, just outside Wembley, where the band was formed. “Sixteen years ago, just outside of this building, I was put into a band that changed my life,” he told the crowd.
Harry’s older sister Gemma made a rare on-stage appearance, delivering a heartfelt speech about her brother’s journey. “I’m proud of who you are, and who you allow other people to be,” she told him, recalling the day she dropped him off for his X Factor audition. “Thank you to everyone who has been there with you over the last 12 nights and the last 16 years.”
Styles will continue his Together, Together tour in São Paulo, Mexico City, New York, and Melbourne, with the final show scheduled for Sydney on December 13. But at Wembley, surrounded by family and the memory of a friend lost too soon, the pop star made it clear: the music stands on the shoulders of the band that started it all.
“None of this would be possible,” Styles said. “I wouldn’t be here without you. Thank you so much.”
