Hollywood chameleon David Dastmalchian has officially joined the cast of Street Fighter and will take on the role of the legendary villain M. Bison, according to Deadline.
The 47-year-old actor, who has made a name for himself with memorable roles in films like The Suicide Squad, Oppenheimer, and Late Night With The Devil, is set to bring the criminal mastermind of the Street Fighter universe to life in the upcoming live-action reboot by Legendary Entertainment.
M. Bison Returns
M. Bison, known in the games as the leader of the villainous Shadaloo organization, is infamous for orchestrating global chaos through arms trafficking, mind control, and ruthless world domination tactics. He also serves as the mastermind behind the Street Fighter tournament itself, pitting elite fighters against one another in his quest for power.
This marks the third major live-action adaptation of the Street Fighter video game franchise since its debut in 1987. The 1994 film, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia, became a cult favorite, while 2009’s Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li failed to impress critics or fans.

A Star-Studded Lineup
Dastmalchian joins an eclectic cast that already includes:
• Roman Reigns (WWE superstar)
• Andrew Koji (Warrior, Snake Eyes)
• Noah Centineo (Black Adam)
• Jason Momoa (Aquaman)
• Orville Peck (country music star)
• 50 Cent (rapper and actor)
• Andrew Schulz (comedian and actor)
The film will be directed by Kitao Sakurai, best known for Bad Trip, with plot details still under wraps. With such a bold and unexpected cast, fans are curious to see how this adaptation will balance high-stakes martial arts action with the eccentric, global flair that made the games famous.

Dastmalchian’s Villain Era Continues
This role continues Dastmalchian’s run of portraying mysterious, complex antagonists. He recently gained critical acclaim for his performance in Late Night With The Devil and will soon star opposite Kelly Marie Tran in the psychological thriller Kodak SuperXX.
The actor has even publicly pitched himself as a future James Bond villain, making it clear that he’s eager to explore more sinister characters.
“I think there’s no one to push Bond to the limits the way I could,” Dastmalchian said in a 2023 interview. “So there’s my pitch. I can bring something no one’s ever seen before.”
For now, fans can look forward to seeing his interpretation of M. Bison, one of gaming’s most iconic villains, as Street Fighter gets ready for its next cinematic round.
Street Fighter currently has no official release date, but production is moving swiftly. Stay tuned for more casting updates and first-look reveals.
