Brenda Song is done with Alaska Airlines. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody star took to Instagram over the weekend to blast the carrier after what she described as a “nightmare” travel experience that separated her from her two young sons.
Song, 37, explained that she had booked first-class tickets six months in advance for a family trip celebrating her son’s birthday. But on the morning of the flight, the airline allegedly gave away their seats with no warning, forcing the family of six to split up. That meant being separated from her 3- and 4-year-old children mid-flight.
“I didn’t know when you book your first-class tickets 6 months in advance for your family of six for your son’s birthday, @alaskaair can just give away your seats the morning of with no warning, splitting up you and your 3 and 4-year-old kids,” Song wrote in an Instagram Story.
She ended her post with a direct warning to followers: “We will never fly @alaskaair again and neither should you.”
Song’s fiancé, Macaulay Culkin, was quick to back her up. The Home Alone star reposted her message to his own Instagram Story with a cheeky but telling caption.
“Hell, hath no fury like a Brenda scorned…” Culkin wrote, signaling just how seriously the couple took the disruption.
Culkin and Song have been together since 2017 and share two sons: Dakota, 4, and Carson, 3. The family was reportedly traveling to celebrate Dakota’s birthday when the seating chaos unfolded.
Following the public backlash, an Alaska Airlines spokesperson issued a statement acknowledging the incident. The airline called Song’s experience “unacceptable and not reflective of the care” they strive to provide.
“Traveling can be stressful, especially with young children, and we pride ourselves on being a top airline for traveling families,” the spokesperson said. “We are deeply sorry for adding friction to the experience.”
The airline added that it has since reached out to the family “to make it right,” emphasizing that they appreciate guests have a choice in which airline they select.
Song and Culkin are typically private about their children, but the actress has previously spoken about the joy of traveling as a family. In a November 2025 interview, she described a Hawaii trip as their “first proper family vacay,” noting that her boys are now at an age where they can actually enjoy beach days and bike rides.
She also revealed her dream of taking the family to Japan or Fiji next. Whether Alaska Airlines will be the carrier for that trip, however, seems highly unlikely.
The couple has been engaged since 2022 but have put wedding planning on hold. Song told Cosmopolitan earlier this year that eloping isn’t an option, her mother would have a heart attack if she wasn’t there. For now, the priority remains protecting their family’s peace, whether on the ground or at 30,000 feet.
