Gene Simmons and his wife Shannon are being taken to court. A man named Evan Brenner is suing the KISS frontman and his better half over a car accident that happened nearly two years ago. But Shannon is firing back, calling the lawsuit nothing more than a money grab.
The crash happened in July 2024 on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. Brenner says he was driving a Tesla when their vehicles collided. He claims he suffered severe injuries to his body and shock to his nervous system, resulting in great discomfort and pain. He also says he will need future medical care from doctors, nurses, and hospitals, all of which will come with huge expenses.
Brenner claims he has lost income because the crash has left him unable to work. He is asking the court for general compensatory damages, plus special damages for medical bills, hospital stays, X-rays, and other incidental expenses.
Shannon tells a very different story. She says Gene was not even in the car during what she calls a very minor accident. No one was hurt, she insists. The only damage was some paint scratched off the guy’s car. She says he was super nice when they exchanged information and insurance.
Shannon claims the man was very pleasant over text in the days after the accident. This lawsuit is the first she has heard about it since. She believes something shifted when he must have discovered who she and her husband are. Suddenly a scratched bumper turned into a major injury claim.
Brenner is seeking significant damages. Shannon is calling it a money grab. A judge will eventually have to sort out who is telling the truth. But one thing is clear: this is not the first time a celebrity has been sued over a minor fender bender that mysteriously became a major catastrophe.
