Nicki Minaj’s team apparently took issue with the budget proposed for promoting her Pink Friday 2 album. Evidence submitted in the ongoing legal battle between 24/7 Productions and Minaj shows a member of her team calling the $250,000 allowance from Republic Records “extremely low.” In an alleged email dated November 29, 2023, the team member wrote: “It will cost her at least double that. Hotels and transportation alone will eat up the whole amount”.

The Nicki Minaj Pink Friday 2 budget emails detailed specific costs: $3,000 a day for a videographer and photographer totaling $18,000 over six days, and $700 per day for a seamstress or tailor totaling $4,200 for the same period. Regarding flights, the team member asked, “Do we know if her son is going with her? Without her son, her normal plane rider is always over $2K each leg. Plus, she will be in the hotels for many days. I think the $10K rider allowance on the budget is a little low”.

24/7 Productions is using the emails to prove its case against Minaj and her company. The production company claims it spent over $275,000 on hotels and travel under a pre-approved budget but was never reimbursed. 24/7 was hired to coordinate Minaj’s performance at Jingle Ball 2023, for which she was reportedly paid $650,000, and a week of promotion in New York. Minaj has denied she was personally responsible for the money and asked to be dismissed from the case.
