The on-screen father-daughter duo from Stranger Things is officially back in business. Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour will star in and executive produce a new untitled spy thriller series for Netflix from Adolescence writer Jack Thorne. The project marks their first major reunion since the sci-fi phenomenon concluded earlier this year.
In the series, Harbour plays Matt Wolfe, a disgraced FBI agent turned security expert who is drawn back into the field when his estranged daughter Rebecca, played by Brown, vanishes on a mission . The logline promises a story about a father and daughter working “on opposite sides of a crisis,” a dynamic that clearly leans into their established on-screen chemistry.
Harbour recently hinted at the project, telling Variety, “You’ll see more of me and Millie, 10 years wasn’t enough. There is a special bond there”. Brown confirmed the reunion was Harbour’s idea and that it would happen “sooner than expected”.
The announcement comes after a tabloid report last fall alleged Brown had filed a harassment complaint against Harbour during Stranger Things production. The report, which did not involve sexual misconduct, fueled intense speculation online.
Both actors have now firmly shut down those narratives. Harbour called the situation a “rupture-and-repair thing” that has been fully resolved. Brown echoed his sentiment, stating, “Over time, our relationship became much more collaborative creatively”. They have since appeared together publicly, and Brown recently noted she has been working to “mend” friendships after the show ended.
The untitled spy thriller series comes from A24 and brings together several notable Netflix alumni. In addition to Brown and Harbour, the project reunites Brown with Thorne, who wrote the Enola Holmes films, and includes Jake Bongiovi (Brown’s husband) as an executive producer. Netflix has given the series a straight-to-series order, signaling strong confidence in the pairing and the creative team.
