Kevin Federline Sued by Bank of America Over Alleged $12K Unpaid Credit Card Bill

Kevin Federline is facing new legal trouble, this time from one of the largest banks in America. The former dancer and ex-husband of Britney Spears is being sued by Bank of America over an allegedly unpaid credit card bill totaling more than $12,000, according to court documents.

The Kevin Federline Bank of America lawsuit was filed on February 19 in Hawaii, where Federline has been residing. The complaint alleges that Federline owes $12,186.64 on a credit card account he opened in December 2024 and has since failed to pay despite the balance coming due.

Bank of America claims Federline opened the credit card account in December of last year and accumulated charges leading to the current five-figure balance. The bank is now pursuing legal action to recover the full amount plus any applicable interest and fees permitted under the original credit agreement.

The lawsuit represents a straightforward collections matter, a creditor seeking repayment through the court system when attempts to collect directly have apparently failed.

The news arrives against a backdrop of Federline’s complicated financial history, much of it intertwined with his famous ex-wife. For years following their 2007 divorce, Spears paid Federline $20,000 per month in child support for their two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Those payments continued long after most celebrity child support arrangements would have ended, largely because Federline retained primary custody of the boys for an extended period. As the children have grown older, both are now teenagers, the custody arrangements and associated support payments have evolved.

The timing of the lawsuit, filed just weeks before Spears’ own recent DUI arrest in Ventura County, adds another layer of public scrutiny to both parents’ lives.

Federline relocated to Hawaii with his wife, Victoria Prince, and their children in recent years. The island lifestyle has been a significant change from his Southern California roots, but the lawsuit suggests financial challenges may have followed him to paradise.

The February 19 filing in Hawaiian court means Federline will need to respond to the allegations through local legal representation. Failure to respond could result in a default judgment against him, potentially leading to wage garnishment or asset seizure.

Federline has not publicly commented on the lawsuit. His attorney has not issued any statement regarding the alleged debt or the bank’s claims.

The case now proceeds through the Hawaii court system. Federline will have an opportunity to respond to the complaint, potentially negotiate a settlement, or contest the amount allegedly owed. Bank of America is seeking a judgment that would compel payment of the full $12,186.64 plus additional costs.

For Federline, the lawsuit adds legal and financial stress to a life that has remained largely out of the spotlight in recent years. For Bank of America, it’s a routine collections matter, one that happens to involve a figure whose name still generates headlines more than a decade after his marriage to one of pop music’s biggest stars ended.
