Diddy Released From Solitary After Prison Fight, Sent Back to General Population

Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is back in general population at FCI Fort Dix after spending time in solitary confinement following a prison brawl. The 56-year-old was placed in “the hole” in late July after getting into a heated physical altercation with a fellow inmate who decided to test his gangsta.

The brawl reportedly broke out after another inmate insulted Diddy, with sources saying the disgraced rapper “held his own” before prison guards stepped in and separated the two men. While holding it down on the yard might earn temporary points behind bars, federal prison guards don’t play about violence, and the Bureau of Prisons made sure to remind him where he is.

TMZ reported on August 12 that Diddy was released back into the general population. However, the brief moment of pride definitely came with a heavy cost. The brawl could have long-term repercussions, including possibly delaying his release date, which had most recently been set for February 2028. The Bureau of Prisons declined to comment on the incident, citing privacy and security reasons.

Diddy is currently serving a 50-month sentence at the low-security New Jersey facility after being convicted in October 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution . His release date has fluctuated multiple times, most recently being set for February 20, 2028.
