“Flame-grilled meets flame-mouthed” as celeb chef films at Reading branch
Gordon Ramsay is turning up the heat — not in the kitchen this time, but in a fast-food ad.
The fiery 58-year-old chef has reportedly inked a six-figure deal to appear in a Burger King commercial, after being spotted filming at one of the chain’s outlets in Reading, Berkshire, last week.
The Hell’s Kitchen icon — known just as much for his no-nonsense TV persona as for his Michelin-starred restaurants — was seen outside the Burger King near Reading Football Club’s Madejski Stadium on July 8, surrounded by cameras and crew.
Flame-Grilled Meets Fame-Grilled
A TV insider told The Sun:
“As someone who has a reputation for being fiery, he seemed like the perfect choice for a restaurant whose products are famous for being flame grilled.
The advert’s storyline is believed to be based on his distinctly bombastic style of operating, which is evident in his many TV shows.”
This collaboration is expected to fuse Ramsay’s sharp tongue and commanding kitchen presence with Burger King’s cheeky brand image — a match made in fast-food heaven.
Ramsay’s Brand Still Booming
Gordon Ramsay, whose net worth sits at an estimated £176 million (Forbes), remains one of the most globally recognized chefs. His popularity spans both sides of the Atlantic thanks to MasterChef US, Next Level Chef, and the long-running Hell’s Kitchen.
Despite his empire of restaurants and media ventures, Ramsay recently admitted to rarely eating at his own Michelin-starred flagship, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, in Chelsea.
Speaking on The Savoy Originals podcast, he said:
“I’ve only had dinner at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay twice in 25 years… once for Megan’s birthday and once with Bradley Cooper while filming Burnt.
It’s not my style. It’s too posh for me. I’m a giver, not a receiver.”
“Fame Is a Beast”
While Ramsay thrives under pressure in the kitchen, the constant attention of fame — particularly in the U.S. — is something he still wrestles with.
In an interview with The Times, he revealed:
“Fame brings nonstop attention… There’s nowhere in the world where I’m not recognised, but America is a different beast.
I can put on a cap and glasses in the UK, but over there, the moment you open your mouth, they recognise the accent and you’re screwed.”
Still, Ramsay remains unfazed by criticism.
“I don’t give a f*** what the critics say. I’ve been criticised more than any chef on the planet and I’ve developed the skin of a rhinoceros,” he added, affirming his loyalty to defending his team against unjust remarks.
Burger King x Ramsay: A Whopper of a Partnership
No official word has come yet from Ramsay or Burger King, but fans and industry insiders alike are already hungry for the ad’s release — expected to play heavily on Gordon’s signature fiery attitude, perhaps with a few comedic kitchen meltdowns thrown in for good measure.
And let’s be honest — who better to promote flame-grilled burgers than the man who’s made shouting “It’s RAW!” an art form?
Stay tuned for what promises to be the most explosive fast-food commercial of the year.
