Tottenham Hotspur forward Dominic Solanke has expressed deep pride in his Nigerian heritage, revealing that he plans to visit Nigeria in the near future to connect with his roots. In a candid interview with Showmax, the 21-year-old striker, who represents England on the international stage, spoke about his admiration for Nigerian footballers and his close friendship with Ademola Lookman.
“I definitely need to take some time off soon and go and see my roots,” Solanke said, adding that it’s something he hopes to do in the next few years. The football star highlighted his pride in his dual heritage, with his father being Nigerian and his mother English. He also lauded the achievements of Nigerian players like Lookman and Victor Osimhen, stating that their performances, particularly for the Nigerian national team, have been “nothing short of phenomenal.”
Solanke, who made a £65 million move to Tottenham Hotspur this year after an impressive season at Bournemouth, continues to rise in English football. His outstanding performance, including a hat trick and 19 goals in the Premier League last season, earned him a place in the top five goal scorers.
As Solanke prepares for his next steps at Spurs, fans are excited to see him bring both his football prowess and his cultural pride to the forefront of the international stage.
