Adele, 36, has confirmed that she will be taking a long break from music after completing her Las Vegas residency. The British singer shared the news during one of her performances in Munich, Germany, stating, “I have 10 shows to do, but after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart.”
This announcement has sparked a mix of reactions from fans. Some expressed their sadness, with comments like, “Please don’t leave us” and “Noooo,” while others supported her decision, saying, “Good for her! Enjoy your break Adele.”
Speculation is growing that Adele’s decision to step back may be related to her upcoming wedding with fiancé Rich Paul, a 42-year-old sports agent. Adele confirmed their engagement at a previous show in Munich last month.
Adele had already hinted at her plans for a break back in July when she told the German outlet ZDF, “I don’t have any plans for new music at all. I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
Adele’s Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace began in November 2022, with her final show scheduled for November 23, 2024. Her last album, 30, was released in 2021, and while she typically releases new music every few years, it seems fans will have to wait longer for her next project.
