Kick streamer N3on found himself on his knees with his hands behind his head Sunday afternoon as Los Angeles deputies responded to a swatting hoax during a livestream on Melrose Avenue.
The popular content creator was walking down the busy shopping district with his friend Benjy Chavez when law enforcement officers descended on the scene. Video from the stream shows deputies ordering the pair to stop moving and drop to the pavement immediately. N3on complied without hesitation, while Chavez appeared visibly rattled by the sudden confrontation.
The incident stemmed from a false 911 call reporting individuals attempting to “shoot up” the area. Law enforcement sources confirmed that deputies located N3on and Chavez based on the caller’s description and briefly detained them while sweeping the scene for any active threat. Once authorities determined the call was a swatting hoax, the two were released without any charges being filed.
Throughout the encounter, N3on remained calm and immediately recognized what was happening. He confirmed to the camera crew that he was being swatted, and the person filming acknowledged the situation as well.
This marks the second time in recent months that the streamer has been targeted by swatting. Back in October, a similar hoax call was made while N3on was streaming a 24/7 marathon from his Los Angeles home. That incident resulted in him being banned from filming in the city during the remainder of his 30-day streaming show.
Despite the previous ordeal and the ongoing harassment, N3on has continued broadcasting from Los Angeles and maintaining his presence on the platform. Sunday’s incident lasted only minutes before he was back to streaming.
Swatting incidents targeting content creators have become increasingly common in recent years, with multiple streamers falling victim to the dangerous prank. Federal authorities treat swatting as a serious criminal threat, warning that hoax calls put both targets and responding officers at risk. For now, investigators have not announced any arrests tied to Sunday’s false report.
