Carly Rae Jepsen Announces 24-Track Double Album Day and Night

Carly Rae Jepsen is returning with her most ambitious project yet. The pop star announced her eighth studio album, Day and Night, a 24-track double album arriving on September 18th via Interscope Records. The project is split into two distinct 12-song halves, each capturing a different side of the pop sensation’s artistic identity.

Fans won’t have to wait long for a taste of the new era. The album’s lead single, “On Wires,” is set to drop this Friday, June 26th. The song reportedly surges with urgency, capturing the dizzying pull of desire. Jepsen describes it as a “come hither” song with a chorus that simply repeats “I want you,” reflecting the overwhelming nature of attraction.

The double album creates a “blurred, dreamlike sense of time where nights stretch into mornings and days dissolve into nights”. The Day side features open-eyed, organic pop with live instrumentation and hints of ’70s psychedelic influence. The Night side shifts into escapist, synth-heavy dance pop. Jepsen worked with longtime collaborators Tavish Crowe, Kyle Shearer, Nate Cyphert, and her husband Cole M.G.N. 

The announcement marks an especially meaningful chapter for the 40-year-old singer. She married Cole M.G.N. in 2025 and welcomed their first child in March 2026. The album follows 2023’s The Loveliest Time, which served as a companion to 2022’s The Loneliest Time. Jepsen will premiere material from the project with a headlining set at New York’s All Things Go Festival on September 27th.
