Popular actress and filmmaker, Wumi Toriola, is basking in the glory of her blockbuster movie, Queen Lateefah, which emerged as one of the highest-grossing Nigerian films of 2024, raking in a whopping N350 million at the box office.
In a recent interview with Saturday Beats, the actress expressed her excitement over the film’s massive success, describing it as both a blessing and a challenge.
“It makes me feel great and at the same time gives me a lot of responsibility because one will want to get better. Beating that record is a lot of responsibility,” she said.
Bigger Projects in 2025
Following the movie’s triumph, Wumi hinted at bigger projects and major collaborations for 2025.
“We are expecting something huge—more collaborations, but in a big way,” she revealed.
The Power of Timing and Preparation
Sharing her journey with Queen Lateefah, the actress revealed that the movie was initially supposed to be shot four years ago but faced multiple delays.
“I had hitches with my story, and I wasn’t completely satisfied, so I kept rewriting it. I faced disappointments, but what I’ve learnt is that whenever you come out, just come out well. The place of preparation was helpful for me.”
With Wumi Toriola already planning her next big move, fans can expect even more groundbreaking projects from the actress in the coming months.
