Wladimir Klitschko is asking a court to name him temporary guardian of his daughter Kaya in order to protect her rights as the sole beneficiary of Hayden Panettiere’s estate. In his petition, Klitschko says Kaya is “not a resident of California,” but that the court has jurisdiction over the guardianship of her estate because, as the heir, she is entitled to the entirety of the assets subject to Hayden’s probate administration in California.
The Wladimir Klitschko guardianship filing raises concerns that some of Hayden’s assets may be lost. Klitschko says federal agents accessed Hayden’s home as part of an ongoing investigation and removed her property. He wants to be appointed as the estate’s personal representative so he can retrieve that property when the probe concludes. He also notes that before her death, Hayden hired a security service to protect her home “arising from a documented concern that an individual had gained unauthorized access” to her property. He adds that locks were changed after her death and that storage units containing designer clothing and accessories worn to public appearances “have been relocated as a precaution.”
Klitschko says it is “expected that the individual will continue to try and misappropriate property belonging to Hayden’s estate,” and argues that a personal representative needs to be appointed immediately to safeguard her home and contents. Because Hayden died without a will, Kaya will be the sole heir to all of her property, including her West Hollywood condo. Hayden died August 16 at age 36.
