Grammy-winning sensation Wizkid has officially equaled Burna Boy’s record as the Nigerian artist with the most charting albums in Billboard 200 history. The Starboy hit this milestone with his latest album, Morayo, which debuted at No. 98, selling 13,000 units in its first week.
This achievement marks Wizkid’s fourth album to chart on the Billboard 200, tying him with Burna Boy for the top spot among Nigerian artists. Celebrating the news, music tracking platform Chart Data shared on X, “Wizkid ties Burna Boy as the Nigerian artist with the most charting albums in Billboard 200 history (4 each).”
Beyond the Billboard 200, Morayo also landed at No. 4 on the Billboard World Albums chart, further cementing Wizkid’s global influence.
With Davido’s fifth studio album, 5IVE, slated for release next year, there’s a chance he could join the record-breaking duo, as he currently boasts three albums on the Billboard 200.
Wizkid’s latest feat not only highlights his musical prowess but also underscores the unstoppable rise of Afrobeat on the global stage.
