Nigeria’s Super Falcons have officially arrived in Casablanca, Morocco, for the final phase of their training camp ahead of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
A 22-member delegation comprising players and officials made the trip from Lisbon, Portugal, where the team had been camping for the past week.
Oshoala, Ijamilusi Join Squad
There was a boost to the squad on Tuesday as Bay FC striker Asisat Oshoala and China-based forward Folashade Ijamilusi linked up with the team in Casablanca. Their arrival completes the roster as head coach Justine Madugu intensifies preparations for the tournament.

The Super Falcons recently played a goalless draw against Portugal in a high-intensity friendly held in Lisbon on Monday night, a performance that signaled the team’s growing cohesion and readiness for competitive action.

As part of their fine-tuning for the tournament, Nigeria will lock horns with arch-rivals Ghana in a high-profile friendly match scheduled for Sunday. The encounter is expected to test the team’s mettle ahead of the real battle.
WAFCON 2024 Fixtures
The nine-time African champions will begin their WAFCON 2024 campaign on Sunday, July 6, against Tunisia at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca. They’ll later face Botswana and Algeria in their remaining Group Stage matches.
