Jamaican dancehall legend, Adidja Palmer, popularly known as Vybz Kartel, has revealed that he has forgiven his wife, Tanesha Johnson, for her alleged infidelity during his 13-year incarceration.
Speaking on episode 443 of the Drink Champs podcast, Kartel disclosed that he found out about his wife’s affair through his other baby mama while he was behind bars — a revelation that left him in tears.
Despite the heartbreak, the “Fever” hitmaker said he holds no grudge against Tanesha, acknowledging that she remained loyal for several years before finally giving in to temptation.
In his words:
“I still respect her because I understand [she is a] human being… I forgave her immediately because I understand, but I just had to move on.”
Kartel praised Tanesha for standing by him through the majority of his prison sentence, stating:
“She was there right through, but come on, I am in prison for fking 13 years; what do you expect her to do? Like, save the psy?”
A Love That Withstood Trials
Tanesha Johnson, who is also the mother of Kartel’s children, has been a pivotal figure in the dancehall star’s life. Despite the distance, she consistently supported him publicly and helped maintain their family while he was locked up.
The couple’s relationship was famously documented in Kartel’s 2020 album “To Tanesha”, which expressed the singer’s love and regret over their complicated love story.
