Dancehall legend Vybz Kartel had a major announcement for the crowd at Reggae Land. During his headlining performance at the UK festival in Milton Keynes on August 2, the Worl’ Boss confirmed that his fiancée, Sidem Öztürk, is pregnant with their first child together.
With about 28 minutes left in his set, Kartel invited Öztürk onto the stage before performing his 2009 hit “Come Breed Me.” He told the audience to “read between the lines,” then rubbed her baby bump as the song played. The moment came during the festival’s biggest-ever edition, which drew 100,000 fans across the weekend. The couple shared matching “iced out” watches and jewelry after the show, with Öztürk posting, “My baby got me this” as she held her belly.
The couple has been together since 2015, when Öztürk began corresponding with Kartel while he was incarcerated. They remained together throughout his 10-year prison sentence before his release in July 2024. Kartel proposed to Öztürk behind bars in August 2022 and proposed again after his freedom. This will be Kartel’s eighth child and the couple’s first together.
