Nollywood veteran John Amaefule has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke, fellow actor Stanley Ontop confirmed via Instagram. The actor was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Owerri, Imo State, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Family Appeals for Support
Stanley Ontop revealed that the stroke has affected the left side of Amaefule’s brain, likely causing weakness on the right side of his body. The family is now seeking financial assistance to cover urgent medical tests, including a Lipid Panel, Hemoglobin A1C, and Electrolyte Urea and Creatinine tests.
He wrote:
“Nollywood Veteran Actor John Amaefule was rushed to the hospital this morning in Owerri after encountering a stroke. His family is asking Nigerians to please help. He is currently in FMC Owerri, and they need money to save this man.”
Nedu Wazobia Denies Fraud Allegations
Meanwhile, popular OAP Nedu Wazobia has addressed allegations of fraud and financial misconductlinked to the Nedu Scholarship Foundation (NDSCHF). The controversy erupted after a recent Honest Bunch podcast episode, where comedian Deeone made claims about social media critic VeryDarkMan’s sexuality.
Following the podcast, accusations surfaced online, alleging that Nedu mismanaged scholarship funds. However, at a press conference in Lagos, Nedu denied the allegations, stating that all donations were managed by a globally recognized social enterprise and that he never personally handled any funds.
He emphasized his commitment to education, philanthropy, and social impact, while announcing legal action against those spreading false claims.
