Vanessa Hudgens is glowing — and growing her family once again! The High School Musical star has revealed that she’s expecting her second child with husband Cole Tucker, less than a year after welcoming their first baby together.
Taking to Instagram, the 36-year-old actress shared a joyful carousel of photos showing off her baby bump while smiling alongside Tucker. She simply captioned the post: “Round two!!!”
Growing Family, Growing Love
The couple, who tied the knot in 2023, welcomed their first child in July 2024, although they’ve kept details of the baby’s name and gender private. At the time, Vanessa expressed frustration after paparazzi photos of her leaving the hospital surfaced before she could share the news herself.
“We’re disappointed that our family’s privacy was disrespected and exploited during this very special time,” she wrote on Instagram. “Despite all of that, mom, dad, and baby are happy and healthy.”
A Mom With a Plan
Even before starting a family, Vanessa had motherhood in mind when making career choices. Speaking with E! News, she explained:
“I’ll show my kids all my work. That’s why I chose things along the way in my career. I wanted to make sure that when I did have kids, there would be something for them to watch at every age.”
And while things didn’t unfold exactly as she once imagined, the Spring Breakers star always envisioned motherhood around this time in her life.
“I always thought I’d be married at 25 because that’s when my mom got married,” she told Nylon in 2022. “When that didn’t happen, I just shifted everything back a bit. I always thought 36 or 37 is when I’d want to have kids — and that still plays.”
From Heartbreak to Happily Ever After
Before finding lasting love with Cole Tucker, Vanessa spent eight years in a high-profile relationship with Elvis star Austin Butler. Reflecting on that chapter on the She Pivots podcast, she credited the breakup with leading her to something even better.
“So much of my character was built from my break-ups. My last breakup really catapulted me to a very, very special place,” she said. “It pushed me to the right person. He’s the most supportive, real, understanding human being I’ve ever met.”
As the couple now prepares for baby number two, fans are thrilled to see Vanessa embrace a new phase of life — filled with family, fulfillment, and a whole lot of love.
