Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has revealed that the upcoming Unity Cup 2025 will serve as the perfect stage to test new players and fine-tune the Nigerian squad ahead of crucial World Cup qualifiers later this year.
Chelle, who retained most of his regular stars during Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying games against Rwanda and Zimbabwe last month, says this tournament offers a unique chance to experiment with fresh faces and different tactical roles.
“We are looking forward to taking part in the Unity Cup as it will give us the chance to try out a few new players in different roles, helping us to strengthen our squad before the matches in September and October,” Chelle told thenff.com.
The Unity Cup, set to take place from May 27 to May 31, 2025, will feature a star-studded lineup including:
