The net around former Prince Andrew continues to tighten. Detectives from Thames Valley Police are preparing to travel to the United States to interview the family of Virginia Giuffre, the late Epstein victim who long alleged she was trafficked to have sex with the disgraced royal. Investigators plan to sit down with Giuffre’s brother, Sky Roberts, and sister-in-law, Amanda Roberts, for an informal discussion about the allegations that have shadowed Andrew for years. The family is not considered direct witnesses, so the conversation will not be a formal interview.
The investigation has been widening since Andrew’s arrest in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Detectives are now pursuing multiple lines of inquiry, including gathering case files and seeking to speak with Andrew’s former security team. Giuffre’s family has praised the police for being “very proactive” in their pursuit of the former prince, who was stripped of his royal titles by King Charles following his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Giuffre, one of Epstein’s most prominent victims, died by suicide in April 2025 at age 41 at her property in Western Australia. She had long claimed she was forced to have sex with Andrew three times starting when she was 17, allegations he has consistently denied. Andrew was never criminally charged over those claims but paid Giuffre between $14 million and $16 million in an out-of-court settlement in 2022. Now, more than a year after her death, investigators are determined to examine every angle.
Police are also investigating a separate allegation that Epstein sent another woman to Andrew’s former Royal Lodge home in Windsor for a sexual encounter in 2010 . That woman has not yet come forward, and investigators have appealed for anyone with relevant information to speak with them . For Giuffre’s family, the police work represents a step toward accountability her brother has described as essential. “The only thing that’s unusual about this is the fact that there’s documentation leading up to her death that we can utilize, so that thousands and thousands of other women and children can be saved,” Sky Roberts said. The investigation continues to unfold.
