As 2024 unfolds, 27-year-old Tolú Ekundare, a dynamic talent in Hollywood’s reality TV scene, is brimming with excitement for what lies ahead. “I’m eagerly anticipating more Hollywood projects and opportunities to showcase my creative, entrepreneurial spirit. I’m also working on launching my own fashion brand. Expect to see a lot more of me in different spaces,” she shares with enthusiasm.

Born in Ibadan and raised in Houston, Tolú first captured the public’s attention on Netflix’s ‘THE TRUST – A Game of Greed’ and made a lasting impression in ‘Perfect Match,’ where her bold personality and unapologetic Naija pride resonated across social media. Whether she’s serving up style or delivering meme-worthy moments, Tolú’s vibrant energy shines through.

Reflecting on her journey from Ibadan to Houston and now Hollywood, Tolú explains, “I was just 2 years old when my family moved to the United States, but Nigeria remains a core part of me—it’s where I was born. My parents raised me close to a vibrant Nigerian community in New York and Houston, blending American surroundings with rich Nigerian heritage. I grew up on Nigerian cuisine, spoke Yoruba, and even our English had a Naija flair. These experiences and the wisdom from my parents have shaped me into a proud Nigerian. Living abroad has been amazing, but nothing compares to staying connected to my roots. Watching Hollywood’s often simplified portrayals of Nigerian and African cultures inspired me to represent the true richness and diversity of our heritage on screen.”

Before her reality TV fame, Tolú was already making waves as an influencer and model. “I was initially hesitant about reality TV, but when the chance to audition came, I thought, why not? I approached it with the mindset of staying true to myself—authenticity is key in reality TV. The success and spotlight have been a pleasant surprise, motivating me to keep pushing toward my goals and crafting the life I envision,” she recalls.

Tolú is currently collaborating with her parents and a team in Nigeria to define her voice and make meaningful contributions to her homeland. “I’m passionate about empowering the girl child, advocating for female education, and promoting creative industries. I’ll be heading to Nigeria soon to engage hands-on with these initiatives, and I’m excited to share my journey as it unfolds. Until then, I’m committed to learning, growing, and proudly representing the Naija spirit as I navigate Hollywood,” she concludes.
