Timini Egbuson’s Valentine’s Day rom-com, “Reel Love,” has taken Nollywood by storm, grossing an impressive ₦99.3 million during its opening weekend (February 14-16). The film secured the number-one Nollywood spot, trailing only behind Captain America, which earned ₦121.7 million.
A Record-Breaking Start
Since its release on February 14, Reel Love has amassed ₦107.55 million within just five days and is on track to cross ₦200 million within 10 days. This milestone makes it the first Nollywood film of 2025 to achieve such numbers, surpassing competitors like Summer Rain and Something About the Briggs.
Star-Studded Cast & Storyline
The film follows Tomide Jobi, a relationship influencer played by Timini Egbuson, who finds himself at odds with the headstrong Rita Monday. The cast includes Funke Akindele, Bimbo Ademoye, Atlanta Bridget Johnson, Hermes Iyele, Chico Aligwekwe, Dakore Akande, and Efa Iwara.
With this momentum, Reel Love is poised to become one of Nollywood’s biggest hits of the year.
