The Weeknd has announced that he is postponing the release of his highly anticipated album Hurry Up Tomorrow and canceling his upcoming Rose Bowl concert due to the devastating wildfires currently raging in Los Angeles.
In an Instagram post, The Weeknd shared his decision, expressing deep sympathy for the people of Los Angeles County: “Out of respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles County, I am canceling the Rose Bowl concert originally scheduled for January 25th. This city has always been a profound source of inspiration for me, and my thoughts are with everyone impacted during this difficult time.”
Along with the concert cancellation, the artist revealed that the release of Hurry Up Tomorrow would also be delayed until January 31st, explaining that his focus remains on supporting the recovery efforts in the affected communities.
For fans who had purchased tickets for the Rose Bowl concert through Ticketmaster, refunds will be processed automatically. However, those who bought tickets through third-party resellers must contact the seller for a refund.
The album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, is set to be the final chapter of The Weeknd’s album trilogy, following After Hours and Dawn FM. In addition to the highly anticipated music, the project will expand into a feature film starring Jenna Ortega, Barry Keoghan, and The Weeknd himself. Fans are eagerly awaiting the album and film, but for now, the priority is supporting the Los Angeles community through this challenging time.
