On a memorable Friday night (November 15), Tems took the stage at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion and delivered a performance that left a sold-out crowd buzzing with energy. “This energy is crazy,” the Grammy-winning Nigerian sensation declared mid-show. “This is the most I’ve gotten this year, I prooooomise you.”

With a dynamic five-piece band and backup vocalists, Tems wasted no time, diving straight into hits like “Crazy Tings,” “Avoid Things,” and “Replay.” Her effortless blend of R&B, pop, and Afrobeats had the packed venue in the palm of her hand. “You know I came to wile with you tonight, Sydney,” she teased, and the crowd responded with wild enthusiasm, matching her every move.

The night was a love letter to her devoted fans. Her breakout single “Mr. Rebel” brought the house down early in the set, while fan favorites like “Damages” from her debut EP For Broken Ears received thunderous cheers. “I’m looking for my day ones – tell me you know this one,” she playfully challenged, earning a roaring response.

Tems’ star power was undeniable as she commanded the stage on her first headlining world tour following the release of her debut album, Born in the Wild, in June. “I’m the vibe, I’m the leading vibe,” she proclaimed, and the crowd eagerly followed her lead.

The Sydney show marked just one of many triumphs on her Australian tour, with Tems also selling out venues in Melbourne and Brisbane.

As the night progressed, she gave fans a taste of what’s to come with new songs like “Burning,” a poignant track about balancing joy and anxiety, and the radiant “Love Me Je Je” and “Me & You.”

At one emotional moment, Tems paused to soak it all in. “I’m gonna cry… I’m really surprised to have this many people connected to me,” she admitted. “I put my heart into my music – it’s what helps me. Thank you for giving me such an amazing life.”

But it wasn’t all deep reflection. Tems kept things lively, inviting three lucky fans to join her for an impromptu freestyle session, which she spun into a playful intro for “Found” (originally featuring Brent Faiyaz). “I’m gonna gift you a freestyle,” she said, flashing her signature smile. “But you have to look me in the eye, okay? Do you love me? Because I love you too.”

The evening reached its pinnacle with a breathtaking rendition of “Essence,” her iconic 2020 collaboration with Wizkid, before closing on a mellow, reflective note with “Free Mind.”

“Sydney, thank you so much for such a special evening,” she said with a gracious bow. The crowd left lifted, knowing they had witnessed not just a concert, but an unforgettable moment with one of music’s brightest stars. Tems didn’t just bring the vibe—she was the vibe.
