Rockstar Games just gave fans two reasons to breathe easier. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed that the standard edition of Grand Theft Auto VI will cost between $70 and $80. Even better? The game will feature no in-game ads GTA 6 players have to suffer through.

The announcement ends months of speculation about whether the most anticipated game of the decade would push pricing beyond the current $70 industry standard.

The GTA VI price announcement came during a quarterly earnings call. Zelnick clarified that only the standard edition falls in the $70–$80 bracket. Premium and collector editions will cost more, though specific pricing remains unannounced.

Industry analysts expected Rockstar to test higher price points given the game’s decade-long development cycle and reported $2 billion budget. Instead, Zelnick reassured investors and players alike that standard pricing aligns with current triple-A releases.

Fan concerns about monetization ran high after other franchises introduced billboard ads or loading-screen sponsorships. Zelnick directly addressed that fear: no in-game ads GTA 6 will feature at launch or post-launch.

Rockstar intends to generate ongoing revenue through optional microtransactions for GTA Online components, not forced advertisements inside the single-player experience.

For the millions waiting since GTA V dropped in 2013, this is a win. Standard pricing. No ads. Just the game. Pre-orders open later this year ahead of the fall 2025 release window.
