Netflix has officially cast Squid Game star Gong Yoo in its upcoming period drama, Show Business. Known for his role as the Recruiter in Squid Game Seasons 1 and 2, Gong Yoo will now take on a different role in a series that delves into South Korea’s entertainment industry from the 1960s to 1980s.
According to Variety, Gong Yoo will play Dong-gu, a close friend of Min-ja (Song Hye-kyo), a determined woman trying to break into Korea’s music scene. The series promises to explore the glamour, struggles, and power dynamics of the entertainment world during that era.
