Spider-Man: Brand New Day has delivered one of the strongest ticket presale launches in cinema history, securing the fourth-biggest first-day presale performance ever recorded. The upcoming Marvel film now trails only Avengers: EndgameSpider-Man: No Way Home, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens in first-day ticket sales, cementing its place among the most anticipated films of all time.

The Tom Holland-led sequel has scored the strongest opening day for movie presales in the last five years, with early figures surpassing major recent releases including Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This achievement is particularly notable given that the film will not have access to IMAX screens during its launch, as premium-format theaters are locked in for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.

Momentum for the film has continued to build following the release of its trailer, which made Hollywood history by becoming the first movie trailer ever to surpass one billion views within just four days. The trailer drew 718.6 million views in its first 24 hours alone, far surpassing the previous record held by Deadpool & Wolverine at 365 million views. Social media amplified the impact, with fan-generated phrases like “Spider-Man: Broke, Depressed, Alone, Heartbroken” capturing the emotional tone of Peter Parker’s next chapter.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film picks up four years after the events of No Way Home. Peter Parker has voluntarily erased himself from the lives of those he loves, devoting himself entirely to crime-fighting as a full-time Spider-Man in a world that no longer remembers his name. The new trailer reveals Peter seeking help from Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) after gaining uncontrollable new abilities, while also showcasing Jon Bernthal’s return as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher.

Industry analysts are watching closely, as No Way Home set the benchmark with an estimated $78 million in presales before delivering a massive $260.1 million domestic opening weekend. It ultimately grossed over $1.92 billion worldwide. With Brand New Day already outpacing expectations despite the IMAX limitation, the film is positioned for one of the biggest box office performances of the decade.

The cast also includes Zendaya returning as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, and newcomers Sadie Sink and Tramell Tillman joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in theaters on July 31, and if presales are any indication, the web-slinger is about to swing to new heights.
