Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially crossed $2 billion at the worldwide box office, cementing its place as the highest-grossing Spider-Man film of all time and the highest-grossing comic book movie of the decade. The Tom Holland and Zendaya-led sequel reached the milestone in just over two weeks of release, shattering records previously held by its predecessor, No Way Home ($1.92 billion), and Avengers: Infinity War.

The film’s domestic total currently sits at over $720 million, surpassing Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame to rank as the second-highest domestic gross of all time behind only Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Its international earnings exceed $1.28 billion, driven by a massive $180 million opening in China, the biggest superhero debut ever in the market.

Brand New Day now stands as the 15th highest-grossing film of all time and the first film since Avatar: The Way of Water to cross the $2 billion mark. Its record-breaking run has been boosted by premium format sales, with the film setting IMAX records and becoming the fastest film to reach $2 billion since Avengers: Endgame.

The film’s success extends beyond pure box office numbers. Brand New Day holds a 95% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes and received an “A+” CinemaScore from audiences, signaling strong word-of-mouth that has sustained its theatrical dominance. The sequel, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, sees Peter Parker navigating a new life after his secret identity is erased, facing off against villain The Scorpion and exploring his relationship with MJ, played by Zendaya.
