Scooter Braun has officially cut ties with Kanye West — emotionally and personally.
In a candid new interview, the former artist manager revealed he no longer recognizes the man he once called a friend. Braun, who managed West briefly between 2016 and 2018, shared that Ye’s shocking antisemitic remarks over the past few years have left him deeply hurt — and forced him to “mourn” the version of Kanye he once knew.
Speaking on the Question Everything podcast with Danielle Robay, Braun said:
“I don’t know him anymore. The person that I knew is not the person that I’m seeing.”
Braun, 44, who is Jewish, addressed how difficult it’s been to witness West’s fall from grace since his 2022 antisemitic outbursts, which sparked major backlash and severed ties with key collaborators and sponsors.
“Sometimes the hardest thing to do with someone you care about is mourn them while they’re still here,” Braun added. “I don’t have a relationship anymore.”
When asked if Kanye — now 48 — could ever make a comeback, Braun respectfully sidestepped the speculation, focusing instead on his role as a father:
“I have three beautiful kids that need a dad to focus on them and make sure they’re prepared and strong in this world. That’s going to be my focus.”
Braun, who stepped away from artist management in 2024, has turned his energy toward family and business — seemingly closing the chapter on one of the music industry’s most complicated friendships.
