Two days after her husband filed for divorce, the Real Housewives of New York City star has finally spoken. Sai De Silva released a heartfelt statement saying her only focus right now is giving her children stability and love.
The 45-year-old reality star took to Instagram Stories on Saturday to address the split from David Craig, her husband of nine years. Craig filed the legal paperwork in New York City on Thursday, and now De Silva is breaking her silence on her own terms
De Silva began by thanking fans for their kindness and support during an obviously difficult time. She said she has been overwhelmed by the messages pouring in.
Then came the line that matters most. “My heart is with my children, and my focus is on giving them as much stability and love as possible,” she wrote.
The couple shares two kids: daughter London, 14, and son Rio, 8. For De Silva, keeping them grounded through the chaos is the only mission that counts right now.
She also addressed the difficulty of navigating personal pain in public. “Living life publicly isn’t always easy, but it’s a reminder that we should all lead with compassion. You never really know what someone is navigating behind the scenes.”
De Silva and Craig met in 2009 during a trip to Costa Rica. She was on a girls’ vacation. He was there for work. Despite a long-distance start, she in New York, he in Canada, they built a life together, welcoming two children before marrying in 2017.
Craig has always preferred staying out of the spotlight. De Silva once called him her “perfect guy” who loves his privacy, adding that she respects that completely. He rarely appeared on her social media and only made occasional cameos on RHONY.
Season 16 of RHONY is currently filming, which means this split will likely play out on screen. De Silva returns alongside Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank, and newcomers Hailey Glassman, Erika Hammond, and Daisy Toye. Carole Radziwill will appear as a “friend.”
Craig has not yet made a public statement. His lawyer confirmed the filing was necessary but offered no specifics.
For now, De Silva is doing what she said she would: keeping her children close and letting the rest wait.
