From apocalyptic snowstorms to audition chaos — now the ‘Lois Lane’ star believes in magic
Rachel Brosnahan has officially entered her witch era — and it’s not for a movie role.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that she actually hired a witch to help her break what she calls a decade-long “travel curse.” And no, she’s not joking.
“I always make it where I’m trying to go,” Rachel said, “but it’s never not as stressful as humanly possible to get there. It’s the absolute worst.”
From flight cancellations to once-in-a-lifetime blizzards, Rachel’s travel misadventures have reached mythical levels. So much so, that even DC Studios boss Peter Safran refused to join her on the global press tour for Superman.
She Called a Witch — Literally
Out of desperation, Rachel turned to the mystical arts.
“I got really desperate and started asking people if anyone knew an energy healer or a past-life reader,” she confessed.
“I called a witch and brought her to my house. She brought a wishing well and a wand… and she signed an NDA.”
Yes, it was that serious.
The two worked together to “tackle the curse,” and it looks like it worked. Rachel proudly told Fallon, “I made it around the world, and I’m here. I believe in witches and curses now.”
A Decade of Travel Drama
Rachel’s unlucky streak began years ago during a trip from New Mexico to Cannes, which started on a sunny day but turned into an “apocalyptic snowstorm.” Since then, it’s been one chaotic journey after another.
One of the wildest examples? Her audition for Lois Lane in Superman.
While working on Broadway in New York, Rachel had to catch a 6 a.m. flight to LA. But delays hit her like a freight train — one gate agent even told her the flight was “definitely getting cancelled.” Cue a marathon of airport sprints between terminals, sold-out tickets, and shifting departure boards.
“It was a very long, exercise-filled morning running back and forth through JFK,” she laughed.
Eventually, she made it to her audition — just 90 minutes late — and landed the part.
“Honestly, I feel like the chaos must have felt so Lois Lane-coded or something. It worked out just fine.”
With the curse now (hopefully) broken, Rachel’s ready to take on the world — one smooth flight at a time. And hey, if you’re dealing with delays and travel drama, maybe it’s time you called a witch too.
