The rapper is back behind bars. Pooh Shiesty was arrested in Dallas on Wednesday as FBI agents executed a search and arrest warrant at his family’s home. At the same time, his father was taken into custody more than 400 miles away in Memphis.
The federal case marks a stunning turn for the “Back in Blood” rapper. He had only recently completed a five-year federal prison sentence for a 2020 shooting in Florida. Now both father and son are in Pooh Shiesty father FBI custody, though officials have not yet announced the charges.
The arrest unfolded in two cities simultaneously. In Dallas, agents moved on the family home where Pooh Shiesty, real name Lontrell D. Williams Jr. was staying. In Memphis, his father, Lontrell Williams Sr., was also taken into custody.
The timing suggests a coordinated federal operation. Search warrants were executed at both locations. Pooh Shiesty arrested just months after his release from prison raises immediate questions about whether this new case stems from old activity or something entirely separate.
The rapper first rose to fame in 2020 as a key signee to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records. His mixtape Shiesty Season peaked at number three on the Billboard 200. That same year, he was implicated in a shooting at a Florida strip club, leading to his original federal sentence.
A press conference is scheduled for 9 AM PT, where federal officials are expected to reveal the charges. For now, both men remain in custody. Pooh Shiesty father FBI custody means two generations of the same family are now entangled in the same federal investigation.
The hip-hop community is watching closely. Pooh Shiesty arrested so soon after freedom suggests the federal government never stopped watching him either.
