Popular Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, formerly of the iconic music duo P-Square, has distanced himself from claims that he played a role in the ongoing legal troubles of his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.
The controversy erupted after Jude was remanded in prison by the Federal High Court in Lagos over allegations of N1.38 billion fraud filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Following the court hearing, Peter’s twin brother, Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), made a bombshell accusation — suggesting that Peter was behind Jude’s legal ordeal. Paul vowed to fight for Jude’s release, sparking widespread speculations of another Okoye family feud.
Peter Okoye Clears the Air
In response, Peter’s manager, Emem Kush, shut down the allegations. He clarified that Peter’s only involvement was a petition against a company managing his funds, not against Jude.
“Peter’s petition was strictly against the company, not Jude Okoye. Any claim suggesting otherwise is completely false,” Emem stated.
He further emphasized that the EFCC’s investigation was solely based on their own findings, and Peter had no influence on his brother’s legal troubles.
