Fetty Wap’s sister, Divinity Maxwell-Butts, is pleading for mercy as the rapper serves a six-year sentence for federal drug charges. Using his Instagram, she launched a heartfelt campaign for his early release during Second Chance Month, emphasizing redemption over punishment.
“He’s taken responsibility and served over half his sentence for a nonviolent offense. It’s time,” she wrote. “#PardonFetty #BringHimHome”
Fetty Wap, real name Willie Junior Maxwell II, was arrested in 2021 at Rolling Loud NYC. Authorities seized kilos of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, weapons, and over $1.5 million in cash. He later pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
In a 2023 XXL interview, Fetty owned up to his past mistakes:
“I take accountability… I could’ve taken music more seriously. But I’m grateful—I still see light at the end of the tunnel.”
With a scheduled release in 2027, his sister and supporters are hoping the justice system sees it the same way.
