Drake’s longtime ally and OVO heavyweight, Chubbs, didn’t miss a beat in reminding the world of the 6 God’s unmatched dominance after Billboard crowned Drizzy the second top artist of the 21st century.
Drake claimed the No. 2 spot on Billboard’s prestigious list, sitting behind Taylor Swift but ahead of global heavyweights like Rihanna (No. 3), Post Malone (No. 4), and Eminem (No. 5). The chart, which ranks artists based on their performance on the Billboard 200 albums and Hot 100 singles charts from 2000 to 2024, showcases Drake’s insane achievements, including 13 No. 1 hits and an unprecedented 78 top 10 singles on the Hot 100.
Among rappers, Drake easily outpaced his fierce rival Kendrick Lamar, who landed at No. 32, along with Kanye West (No. 20), Nelly (No. 25), JAY-Z (No. 29), Lil Wayne (No. 30), and 50 Cent (No. 31). The Toronto superstar even achieved a Beatles-esque milestone in 2021, occupying the top five spots on the Hot 100 simultaneously with his album Certified Lover Boy.
Chubbs wasted no time celebrating the achievement, reposting the news on his Instagram Stories and captioning it: “Congrats. [shrug emoji] Solo dolo. Y’all boys not even coming close,” quoting a line from Drake’s track “Weston Road Flows.” The jab seemed aimed at Drake’s detractors, especially after his highly publicized rap feud with Kendrick Lamar last year.
The feud sparked intense back-and-forths between the camps. After Kendrick’s blistering verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” where he took shots at Drake and J. Cole, Chubbs fired back online, calling Kendrick out: “Tell That Little Boy Drop!!! But He Won’t. He Knows Better.” Kendrick, however, had plenty of material in the vault, eventually releasing tracks that kept fans talking.
Chubbs wasn’t spared in the crossfire. TDE rapper Ab-Soul subtly clapped back during a Hot 97 freestyle, responding to Chubbs’ Instagram dig with the sharp line: “Actions speak loud, but so does moments of silence.”
Despite the noise, Drake’s legacy remains untouchable, and Chubbs stands by his man. As Billboard’s list reaffirms, Drake’s reign isn’t over—it’s just entering another chapter.
