Nigerian singer Orezi has opened up about a past situation where he promised a lady a house but ultimately failed to deliver. He made the revelation during an interview on Echo Room, where he also shared his thoughts on the ongoing controversy involving Burna Boy and socialite Sophia Egbueje.
The conversation stemmed from Burna Boy’s alleged N300 million Lamborghini promise to Sophia, which has been making waves on social media. Reacting to the saga, Orezi expressed amusement at the extravagant gesture and questioned the rationale behind making such costly promises.
“I’m not part of the Lamborghini boys. I have never promised a lady anything worth N300 million. Am I crazy?” Orezi quipped.
On Broken Promises
Reflecting on his own experience, the singer admitted to once promising a house to a woman, though he never fulfilled the pledge. However, he defended his actions by pointing out the common occurrence of broken promises in relationships.
“I once promised a lady a house but I didn’t deliver. Why would I buy her a house? For what?”
Orezi further argued that women also often fail to keep their promises of loyalty and fidelity, suggesting that unfulfilled commitments are a two-way street.
“Ladies also promise to be faithful to one partner and they often fail. So, let every gender keep promising. It’s a dog-eat-dog world.”
Social Media Reactions
Following Orezi’s remarks, reactions online have been mixed. While some fans agreed with his perspective on relationship dynamics, others criticized the notion of making promises without the intention of keeping them.
The conversation has also reignited debates on the expectations and responsibilities in romantic relationships, particularly regarding financial gestures and grand promises.
As the discourse continues, Orezi’s comments serve as a reflection of the evolving landscape of modern relationships, where material expressions of love are often scrutinized and questioned.
