Veteran Nollywood icon Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) is making headlines once again — this time, for sharing his bold views on polygamy during a candid chat on the viral show Curiosity Made Me Ask hosted by comedian Isbae U.
RMD didn’t mince words when asked about his stance on polygamy.
“I think it’s unfair to expect a man to be with only one woman,” he said, sparking both applause and criticism across social media.
The screen legend revealed that he comes from a polygamous background himself — his father had five wives. Drawing from personal experience, he defended polygamy as part of African tradition and questioned the modern lens through which relationships are often judged.
But it wasn’t all just about love and marriage. RMD also opened up about his academic journey, highlighting that beyond his acclaimed acting career, he’s got the brains to match the talent.
“I studied Theatre and Media Arts at UNIBEN, and I also have two law degrees from UNILAG,” he shared.
