American rapper Offset is pushing to speed up his divorce proceedings with estranged wife Cardi B, while seeking joint legal custody of their three children.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Offset — real name Kiari Cephus — wants shared custody of Kulture (6), Wave (3), and their six-month-old daughter, but believes Cardi’s home should serve as the children’s primary residence.
The Migos rapper is also asking the court to clearly outline both parents’ child support responsibilities and for their marital assets to be divided accordingly. Each party would also cover their own legal fees under his request.
Cardi B and Offset’s Rocky Relationship
The celebrity couple’s on-and-off relationship has made headlines for years. Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, first filed for divorce in 2020 before calling it off. However, she filed for separation again in 2023, citing ongoing issues rather than cheating rumors.
While Cardi initially praised Offset as a great father, things have turned messy online in recent months, with both stars taking shots at each other on social media.
Offset previously claimed the only reason he hasn’t signed the divorce papers is because he wants equal custody of their kids. Meanwhile, Cardi has been linked to NFL player Stefon Diggs, adding more fuel to the drama.
As the legal battle unfolds, fans are eagerly watching to see how one of hip-hop’s most talked-about relationships will officially come to an end.
What do you think about Offset’s request? Should they share custody or not?
