Nigerian singer Harrysong has stirred major conversation online after boldly declaring himself polygamous in a recent Instagram post — and he’s unapologetic about it.
The Reggae Blues crooner wrote:
“Not sorry I’m polygamous. Life should be happiness, freedom and support right?”
His declaration comes on the heels of a very public and messy marital crisis with his estranged wife, Alexer Peres.
Harrysong and Alexer got married in March 2021 and share two children, but their relationship took a turn in early 2024 after a leaked WhatsApp chat revealed Harrysong allegedly asking her to terminate a pregnancy.
In another leaked chat, Alexer accused the singer of keeping multiple side chicks — an allegation Harrysong didn’t deny, instead saying “they are better than you.”
Things escalated as both parties went public with more damaging claims. While Harrysong pleaded for privacy, Alexer accused him of verbal and physical abuse. By May 2024, the singer fired back, accusing her of infidelity and claiming she was pregnant by another man during their marriage.
Recently, Alexer confirmed her freedom from the marriage, suggesting that their divorce is now finalized.
As Harrysong embraces his polygamous identity, fans are divided — with some supporting his “freedom” stance and others calling out the drama surrounding his choices.
