North West‘s first-ever headlining tour has been canceled just days before it was scheduled to begin. The 13-year-old, who released her debut EP N0rth4evr in May, was set to embark on the 14-date Kimokawaii Tour alongside rapper Molly Santana on August 5 in Dallas. Now, Ticketmaster lists the Dallas concert and an August 17 stop in Toronto as “canceled,” and the tour’s official website has been taken down.
North confirmed the news on her Instagram Stories, writing: “I was really excited to go on tour with Molly Santana, sadly it isn’t happening anymore, but I have something special for you guys. See you soon”. She offered no explanation for the abrupt cancellation.
Molly Santana also addressed the decision, apologizing to fans who had already purchased tickets. “I know a lot of you have taken time out of your busy schedules and spent your hard-earned money planning to be there,” she wrote. “I promise I will make this one up to you”.
The Kimokawaii Tour was announced on June 16 and was expected to mark a major milestone in North’s budding music career. The 14-date run included stops in Houston, New York, Boston, Chicago, Phoenix, Atlanta, and Los Angeles . North had recently performed at the Summer Smash Festival in Chicago and collaborated with FKA Twigs. The EP received enthusiastic support from the Kardashian-Jenner family, with Khloé Kardashian, Kris Jenner, and Rob Kardashian sharing clips of themselves listening to the music.
An August 25 performance at The Midway in San Francisco still appears on the venue’s calendar, though no official announcement has been made about that date or the rest of the tour. Representatives for North and Santana have not commented publicly on the reason for the cancellation.
