Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles are bracing for a challenging first-round group at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN). The draw, set to take place on Tuesday at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, will see teams seeded based on their performances in the last three editions of CHAN (2022, 2020, and 2018).
Unfortunately for Nigeria, they are not among the seeded teams due to their absence from the previous two tournaments. The Eagles secured their spot in CHAN 2024 after a convincing 3-1 victory over rivals Ghana.
Co-hosts Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and defending champions Senegal will be in Pot 1, adding to the competition’s intensity. The tournament, which features national teams made up of players from their local leagues, will take place from February 1 to February 28, 2024.
