Popular OAP and host of The Honest Bunch podcast, Nedu Wazobia, has spoken out against the recent allegations circulating online, dismissing them as false and baseless.
In a media engagement, Nedu addressed claims linking him to social media commentator Verydarkblackman, clarifying that they are mere acquaintances, not close friends.
On allegations of fraud, Nedu explained that last-minute sponsor withdrawals led to financial adjustments. He defended his stance, stating:
“You cannot use my relationship with you to force me to shut down whatever a guest is saying on the show—that is not professional. Everyone has a right to express their opinion, and that is why we have a disclaimer at the start of the show.”
Supporting Nedu’s claims, Sarah William Konha, COO of Talking Drum Management, also dismissed fraud allegations. She clarified that funds raised for an event were handled transparently, with ₦4.1 million collected—₦4 million paid to the event planner and ₦100,000 allotted to performing artists.
She emphasized that Nedu never personally received any donations, and the only alternative account used was under his scholarship foundation initiative.
With these clarifications, Nedu maintains his innocence, urging the public to focus on facts rather than speculation.
Freddie Gibbs Throws Shade at J. Cole, Calls Out Drake & PARTYNEXTDOOR
Freddie Gibbs seems to have aimed shots at J. Cole after the Dreamville rapper dropped his new song, cLOUDs, on February 20.
Cole’s lyrics, where he boasts about “turning artists to martyrs,” caught Gibbs’ attention, prompting the Alfredo rapper to respond with a yawn emoji on X. He later took to Instagram, writing:
“N-ggas be rapping about how they kill rappers and kill they careers and blah blah blah but he backing outta rap beefs,” accompanied by laughing and thinking emojis.
Fans speculate that Gibbs is referencing Cole’s decision to step back from his beef with Kendrick Lamar, though he hasn’t directly confirmed this.
Gibbs Calls Out Drake & PARTYNEXTDOOR for Alleged Style Theft
Aside from the J. Cole jab, Gibbs also accused Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR of copying his style with their upcoming album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U. The title bears a resemblance to Gibbs’ 2022 album $oul $old $eparately (often abbreviated as $$$).
Additionally, the cartoon bunnies on the album’s back cover resemble Gibbs’ signature “Big Rabbit” mascot, leading him to sarcastically comment:
“Damn they even stole the rabbits too. I’m flattered.”
Gibbs used the controversy to promote his own music, reposting old commercials for $oul $old $eparately while sharing tweets from fans calling out Drake and PND.
With tensions brewing, fans are eager to see if any of the accused artists will fire back.
