A Lagos State Magistrate Court in Sabo, Yaba, has exonerated Nigerian singer Naira Marley (Abdulazeez Fashola), music promoter Sam Larry (Samson Balogun Eletu), and Primeboy (Owodunni Ibrahim) from allegations that they were involved in the death of singer Mohbad (Ilerioluwa Aloba).
Delivering the ruling on Tuesday, Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje cited legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) in Lagos, which concluded that the trio had no case to answer regarding Mohbad’s death.
Others Cleared & Those Facing Charges
Also cleared of any criminal liability was Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde.
However, the DPP confirmed that two individuals will face prosecution:
• Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who treated Mohbad before his death.
• Ayobami Sadiq, one of Mohbad’s friends.
They will be tried for reckless and negligent acts under Section 251 (e) of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015. Their trial is expected to take place at the Magistrate Court.
This ruling marks a significant development in the high-profile case surrounding Mohbad’s death, as fans and the public continue to seek justice and closure.
