TV personality Michelle Visage is speaking candidly about the emotional toll and serious considerations behind plastic surgery decisions, calling it a “very scary thing” after undergoing a breast implant removal herself.
Now 56, the RuPaul’s Drag Race judge, who had her implants removed in 2019, is using her personal experience to guide others on Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind. Speaking to E! News, Michelle revealed the show feels like a perfect fit for her, especially as she relates directly to the participants struggling with body-altering choices. “Dr. Dubrow can tell you how he’s gonna do it, but he didn’t actually have breast implants removed — and I have walked that walk,” she shared.
Visage is fully embracing the growing trend of being open about cosmetic surgery regrets, hoping it will give younger generations pause before going under the knife. “Plastic surgery regret is a real, actual thing,” she said. “What you get at 21 or 22 is totally different at 46 or 56.”
Still, the conversation isn’t so simple for everyone. Some cast members, like influencers Larissa and Sophia, wrestle with the financial implications of altering their enhanced looks. “They make their money with it,” Michelle explained. “If they go smaller, they might not make as much money. Hollywood is no joke, man!”
With honesty and empathy, Michelle Visage is shining a light on the complex realities behind beauty standards, fame, and the permanent decisions many are pushed to make in pursuit of perfection.
