Despite a previous victory in her defamation lawsuit, Megan Thee Stallion has hit a legal roadblock in her attempt to permanently silence online critic Milagro Cooper (known as Milagro Gramz). In a decision handed down on Monday, April 20, 2026, a federal judge denied the rapper’s request for a permanent injunction. The Megan Thee Stallion Milagro Cooper court ruling April 2026 marks a significant moment in the ongoing battle between high-profile celebrities and digital commentators.

Following a jury’s 2025 decision that found Cooper liable for defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and sharing sexual deepfakes, Megan’s legal team sought a permanent injunction. The goal was to prevent Cooper from further discussing Megan’s mental state, alcohol use, or family history. Megan’s attorneys argued that the injunction was a necessary step to stop what they described as a “coordinated campaign of harassment” that continued even after the initial verdict.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ and Vulture, Chief U.S. District Judge Cecilia Altonaga ruled that Megan’s demands were “overboard.” The judge found that Cooper’s online commentary did not meet Florida’s strict legal definition of cyberstalking.

• Lack of Physical Threat: The judge noted there was no evidence that Cooper ever tried to physically track Megan, attend her concerts, or contact her directly in person.

• Legitimate Purpose: The court determined that Cooper’s blog served a “legitimate purpose” of providing news and commentary, which is protected under the First Amendment, even if the content is considered distasteful or biased.

• Legal Threshold: The judge emphasized that a liability finding for defamation does not automatically grant a plaintiff the right to a permanent gag order on future speech.

While Megan was denied the injunction, the previous findings against Cooper remain a major legal win for the rapper. In December 2025, a jury awarded Megan $75,000 in damages (later reduced to $59,000 by the judge) after concluding that Cooper acted as a “mouthpiece” for Tory Lanez during his criminal trial. Megan’s testimony during that trial was heart-wrenching, as she described the “severe distress” and embarrassment caused by the deepfake videos and relentless online rumors.

As it stands, Milagro Cooper is still legally required to pay the damages and may be responsible for Megan’s legal fees, which are expected to be substantial. However, for now, the blogger remains free to post commentary, provided it does not cross back into the territory of proven defamation.
